NO WEALTH CREATION FOR YOU A Documentary Film Series on the Real Estate Industry’s History of Discrimination in Lending, Housing, and City Planning
Did you know that real estate agents, mortgage lenders, local and federal government all played a role in denying Black Americans the ability to buy homes throughout much of the 20th Century?
Join Rob Edwards, a 2022 SFAR Board Member and expert in city planning/economic development, as he leads us in exploring the history of racial discrimination in lending, home sales, and urban planning through a monthly film series.
Using documentaries to explore the past, we will watch a series of films together online and discuss them to better understand this unjust legacy.
The meetings in this series taking place from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month this year, running through December.
Once you register, you can use the same Zoom link to join each week!

SFAR Membership Survey Results on Income and Housing Affordability
Wednesday, June 1, 2022
12 - 12:30 p.m.
Hosted by Scott Okamoto, 2022 Vice Chair of SFAR's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee
Last spring, SFAR's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee launched its first annual SFAR Membership Survey. A total of 727 SFAR members provided responses!
The purpose of the survey was to understand the diversity and experiences of SFAR’s membership, and inform how SFAR creates spaces for conversations that impact our membership’s diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Grab your lunch and join our 30-minute presentation on June 1st as we release the second set of data from this survey.
Scott Okamoto will share reported incomes by our members and how this contrasts with housing affordability in San Francisco. It's enlightening!
